Following the successful debut of Season 1 in January 2023, production for Season 2 of “The Last of Us” has been underway since the Hollywood strike. With a growing cast and an anticipated release, updates were unveiled, including a sneak peek at Warner Bros. Discovery’s Upfront presentation in May.

The first season, shot in Calgary, Alberta, featured a stellar cast, including Gabriel Luna, Anna Torv, Nico Parker, and Nick Offerman. Returning for Season 2 are Bella Ramsey and Pedro Pascal as Ellie and Joel, respectively. New additions to the cast include Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Young Mazino as Jesse, and Isabela Merced as Dina.

Set to launch in 2025, Season 2 follows the storyline of “The Last of Us Part II” video game, portraying the journey of Joel and Ellie in a post-apocalyptic world. Filming began in Canada, with Vancouver serving as a primary location to mirror the game’s setting in the Pacific Northwest.

The series promises exciting developments, with directors such as Mark Mylod and Nina Lopez-Corrado joining the creative team. Executive producers Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, along with a talented production crew, ensure a gripping continuation of the acclaimed series.
